Join us for an adventure this Summer to explore the beautiful “Wonders of the World” found in 5 different continents. We will be using the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) approach to learn about these beautiful phenomena using activities that are age-appropriate for our children.

Week 1: 30 March – 3 April 2020
Week 2: 7 April – 10 April 2020 – (6th is a Public Holiday – Chakri Day)
Songkran Break (no school): 13 – 17 April 2020
Week 3: 20 April – 24 April 2020
Week 4: 27 April – 1 May 2020

Week 1: The Brilliant Banaue Rice Terraces in The Philippines, Asia
We will journey to the Philippines and experience the brilliant Banaue Rice Terraces beautifully developed by nature and the Ifugao people. The children will learn that rice is planted by hardworking farmers all over Asia to give us food for energy. They will get to see, smell, touch and taste the different kinds of healthy rice. They will enjoy making coloured rice and creating a rainbow rice bin with their friends. We will end our fun-filled week sharing chocolate rice ‘champorado’ (Filipino food) while listening and dancing to tunes from the tribal people of Luzon.

Week 2: The Niagara Falls in USA & Canada, North America and
The Iguazu Falls in Argentina & Brazil, South America.

We will explore North and South America through two of the most famous waterfalls in the world. We will be having fun making waterfall art pieces through Sensorial Play and also will be making an actual demonstrative model of a waterfall to learn how water moves.
Not only will our children be amazed by the beauty of nature, we will also learn how mankind has put these beautiful wonders to good use through the creation of hydroelectric power, a “green” energy.
A further highlight of the week will be the celebration of a July 4th (America’s Independence Day) picnic with an actual cookout featuring hamburgers.

Week 3: The Nile River, Egypt, South Africa
The Continent of Africa has seen the rise and fall of many great civilizations
and empires throughout its history. The oldest being the Ancient Egyptians who are still famous today for their pyramids and the longest river in the world, the Nile.
We will be learning about the Nile River and also learn to construct “bridges” that are big and strong enough for various transportation.
African’s diverse culture is expressed in its arts and crafts, folklore,
clothing, cuisine, music and languages. Come and discover the taste of
Moroccan Cous cous and dance at the rhythmic drumbeat of Africa. It will
surely warm your hearts.

Week 4: Aurora, the Northern Lights in Sweden, Norway and Iceland, Europe.
We will explore Europe by learning more about The Northern Lights, one of the most beautiful natural phenomenon on Earth. The children will learn that the lights are fluttering and bright which can be observed in the sky over the northernmost parts of the world. They will design and create their very own Aurora art project and also produce their very own Northern Lights display. The children will finish an exciting week by making a favourite Scandinavian dish of mash potato and meatballs!
